Sua produção é voltada para questionamentos sobre o espaço construído e de que forma eles interferem no comportamento humano.
Em sua prática multidisciplinar, seja através da pintura, objetos ou projetos de instalação, a artista busca constantemente apresentar um corpo de trabalho integrado que estabeleça associações em busca de aspectos (e perspectivas) invisíveis dos espaços urbanos, da arquitetura e da rotina contemporânea. Tomando a relação com o espaço construído, a cor e a materialidade como tema principal de suas obras, Martinez questiona o espaço de nossa própria existência.
Desde 2010, Carolina Martinez expõe em mostras individuais e coletivas pelo Brasil, Europa e Estados Unidos, como: “Vagar pelos dias sem ler as horas”, Galeria Portas Vilaseca (Rio de Janeiro, 2024) “Todavia, caminhar”, Galeria Marilia Razuk (São Paulo, 2023), AAA – Antologia, Arte e Arquitetura, Galeria Fortes D'Aloia & Gabriel (São Paulo, 2020) e, “L’aube”, Galeria Ilian Rebei (Paris, 2022). Recentemente seu trabalho foi integrado ao Museu Nacional de Belas Artes, no Brasil.
Atualmente, Carolina Martinez vive e trabalha no Rio de Janeiro.
Carolina Martinez was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1985. The artist holds a BFA in Architecture and Urbanism and MS in History of Art and Architecture at the Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil.
Carolina’s production questions how built space interfere with human behavior.
In her multidisciplinary practice, whether through painting, sculpture, objects or installation projects, the artist constantly seeks to present an integrated body of work that establishes associations in search of invisible aspects (and perspectives) of urban spaces, architecture and contemporary routine. Taking the relationship with architecture, color and materiality as the main subject for her oeuvre, Martinez questions the role of our own existence.
Since 2010, Carolina Martinez has exhibited in individual and collective shows throughout Brazil, Europe and the United States, such as: “To wander through the days not reading the time”, Portas Vilaseca Gallery(Rio de Janeiro, 2024); “Neverthless, walk”, Marilia Razuk Gallery(São Paulo, 2023) ; AAA – Anthology, Art and Architecture, Fortes D'Aloia & Gabriel Gallery(São Paulo, 2020); and “Seeing Thru Abstraction ”, Residency Unlimited (Brooklyn, NY – 2015). Recently her work was acquired by the Museu Nacional de Belas Artes, in Brazil.
Currently, Carolina Martinez lives and works in Rio de Janeiro.
